ACTORS: As a professional performing arts organization, Town Center Theatre holds auditions on an as-need basis. The plays produced in our season are cast by the directors of the respective shows, and actors are not required to audition in order to be cast. Most roles, however, are filled through auditions.

Town Center Theatre attends the Houston Co-operative auditions each year, and we hold annual season auditons. Many of our actors are cast from these respective auditions. In certain situations, an audition call may go out for a particular show or role. These auditions are advertised through many sources, and can usually be found on www.theatreport.com, as well as through the South Montgomery County - Woodlands Chamber of Commerce, The Villager or The Courier newspapers, show programs, or on this website.

Our general season audition is attended by the Artistic Directors and our Musical Director. Auditioners are asked to provide one or two monologues, depending on the nature of the shows in the season, of no more than two minutes in length TOTAL. Singers are asked to bring a song of no more than 16 bars.

For individual shows, directors normally conduct one or two callback auditions. At this audition, actors will read from scripts, and demonstrate special skills or dance abilities as required for particular productions. In most situations, shows are cast 1 - 2 weeks following the callback.

All acting, directing, design, and production crew positions are paid. Town Center Theatre is a non AEA (Actor's Equity) Theatre, but abides by AEA rules and regulations.

DESIGNERS: Town Center Theatre is always accepting design resumes and portfolios. TCT may hire set, lighting, costume, sound, or properties designers on a show-by-show or seasonal contract.
