Founded by Managing Director Aaron Stryk and Artistic Directors Joseph Milillo and Chris Tennison, Town Center Theatre is a professional, non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to providing quality live entertainment and educational theatre to the surrounding community in which it operates. Town Center Theatre's mission is to use the theatrical experience as a means of stimulating and enriching the cultural life of the community and to serve as a hub of artistic expression for the surrounding area.
Theatre Policies
Seating: Doors open to the lobby for the public 1 hour prior to show time. Typically, the theatre doors open for seating 30 minutes before the curtain goes up; Town Center Theatre reserves the right to hold the doors prior to curtain as needed.
Seating is assigned by the Box Office Manager at the discretion of Town Center Theatre management. Town Center Theatre Season Subscribers get first choice of available seating options, and frequently have assigned seats for each performance. All seating change requests must be approved by the Box Office Manager.
We ask that our patrons refrain from leaving the theatre during the peformance, if at all possible. Patrons who leave the theatre cannot be gauranteed re-entry to the theatre until intermission under any circumstances. Late seating and re-entry is completely at the discretion of Town Center Theatre's Box Office Manager and supervising staff.
Food and Drink: We encourage our patrons to have refreshments prior to the show or during intermission. However, food and drink inside the performance space (even water) is strictly prohibited. Exceptions may be made for water in cases of medical need; please see the box office manager for details. Wrapped candies, mints, etc. should be opened prior to the curtain. Consider your neighbor!
Cell Phones: In this day and age, few people are without a cell phone or some sort of noise-making device (pagers, iPods, portable video games, chiming watches, etc.). Town Center Theatre asks that you turn all of these devices OFF prior to entering the seating area of the theatre (vibrate is not an option unless you are a doctor; please see the box office manager for special approval and seating options if this is the case). Patrons found in violation of this policy may be asked to leave by Town Center Theatre staff or ushers.
Children: Town Center Theatre's mainstage productions vary in terms of their appropriateness for audiences of differing ages (see Content Issues below). In most cases, children under 7 years of age are deemed by Town Center Theatre as too young to properly enjoy a theatregoing experience not specifically designed for young audiences. The Box Office Manager reserves the right to recommend that children of a certain age not be allowed to enter the theatre for certain shows. Please consult our Current Season page for more information on the age recommendations for selected shows.
Etiquette: Town Center Theatre assumes a certain degree of proper behavior on the part of our patrons. We feel that every patron has the right to enjoy the show with a guarantee that other patrons will not disturb their experience. Laughter, crying, gasping and applause are all considered acceptable and encouraged. Excessive talking, moving around in the theatre space, and disregard for your fellow patrons is not. Patrons found in violation of this policy may be asked to leave by Town Center Theatre staff or ushers.
Refunds: Patrons found in violation of any Town Center Theatre policies listed above are NOT subject to refunds by the Box Office Manager or Town Center Theatre staff. Under no circumstances does the Box Office Manager alone have the ability or right to grant refund requests. Any and all refund requests must be obtained by contacting the Town Center Theatre Managing Director at (832) 592-9697 or by e-mailing tctinfo@yahoo.com .
Content Issues
Effects: Occasionally in Town Center Theatre productions, certain dramatic effects may be used. These effects include, but are not limited to: gunfire, cigarette or cigar smoke, strobe lights, pyrotechnics, or water-based splash effects. In such events, the threat of injury or adverse side effects is nearly negligible. However, in the event that any such effects are used, patrons will be given warning through signs posted at the box office, the theatre doors, in the playbill of the show, and in selected media advertisements including but not limited to this website. It is the responsibility of the theatregoer to determine what, if any, effects may be a threat to their health. While Town Center Theatre is insured against personal injury, but does not take responsibility for health issues suffered as a result of these effects.
Offensive Material: Town Center Theatre's policy is to produce works of artistic merit that the theatre feels is appropriate for the surrounding community. It is very difficult, even impossible, for a community as large as the one TCT serves to agree on what material may be deemed offensive to some audiences. As a result, Town Center Theatre places age recommendations on all of their productions. However, senstive viewers over the minimum age recommendation should take special care to look for the content warnings listed for our plays. See our Current Season page for more information on material contained in each of our plays.
